I have never been able to make those cake mix cookie recipes work out, but... my Mother-in-law gave me a recipe she tried. I altered it a little (hers had chocolate chunks and toffee bits in it) and the kids say it is their new favorite cookie.
Double Chocolate-Peanut Butter Cake Mix Cookie
1 box chocolate cake mix
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup hot water
1 egg
1 cup Reese's peanut butter chips
1 cup milk chocolate chips
Mix all but the chip together. Fold in the chips distributing them evenly. Drop by small ice cream scoop onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Do not flatten cookies.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.
Take out of the oven and slide the paper off the cookie sheet onto the counter. Let the cookies cool before removing them from the sheet with a spatula.
Make sure you cool your cookie sheets before adding dough.
Using a #30 scoop this recipe makes 2 1/2 dozen large cookies.
