I heard the song "What is this feeling" Thursday night. Today, Brooklyn Karen Anne Cook performed a synchronized swimming routine to "Popular". I totally love that music. The morning news show showed a small piece of the play and it looks cute. I must read this book. It will be clever, it will be interesting, it will be so hard to put down. I must have this book now.
This afternoon I went to the library to check out “the book” thinking the book is always better than the movie (play, whatever). Oh, HECK! It's not a nice book. I read the first page and think “what the crap is this?”. But I read on having faith that I’ve stepped into the mud, wiped my shoes off and am going to skip along through the book. As I continued reading the book was clever, it was interesting, it was hard to put down. But… there is no excuse for the manure I had to wade through to read the clever and interesting parts. I gave it one more try this evening (I love reading in bed). In the end (of my reading, not the book) threw the book across the room. I can’t put that kind of filth in my mind and stay unaffected. I hope the play cuts out the yucky stuff because I really love the music.
Next Day: Talked to a few people, the music is nice and clean. I can’t wait to find and buy the cd.
